In 1990 Mark Killingray co-opened The Bodhran bookshop in Saltaire, Yorkshire, and began compiling the database when he realised that it was difficult to obtain up-to-date information on writers and their books. It was used as his working database until the shop finally closed in 2003 and it continues to be vital to his bookselling business on-line.
This website is latest version of the Bodhran Books and Writers database that was held at http://booksandwriters.co.uk
